Holiday Open House @HOME Brings Event Safely To You

Spring Creek Prairie’s annual event goes virtual with lists, links, and Facebook Live

The annual holiday get-together has transformed into the Holiday Open House @HOME, a collection of links and resources for holiday fun with the family. In previous years, Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center would host at the center where visitors enjoyed live music, treats, walks on the trail, and crafting. This year, it will be a virtual event on Sunday, December 6, or any time in the holiday season.

“We are sad to miss seeing all our friends, members, and regular visitors for an in-person open house this year,” mentioned Senior Education Manager and resident Birdnerd, Jason St. Sauver. “But, we are happy to try and create something for everyone to enjoy safely at home that hopefully will feel like the event.”

Holiday Open House @HOME will be a collection of links and lists sent to those that register for the event plus a small mailed gift packet, too. The resources provided will contain links to music, recipes for cider and snacks, videos and instructions on making holiday crafts, and a Facebook Live nature walk by The Birdnerd at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 6.

The event has a suggested donation of $5 to receive the full kit (online and mailed) and registration is required to receive all the resources. For information and to register for Holiday Open House @HOME, visit springcreek.audubon.org/events or email scp@audubon.org.
