On Saturday, May 11, Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center will host four programs in one day – all focusing on the return of migratory birds.  The program is part of Bird Month in Nebraska and will have a little something for everyone.

To start the morning, there will be a 9:00 am guided bird walk leading participants across the prairie and through the woods to look and listen for feathered friends. The walk will finish up with donuts.  After the walk at 11:00 will be the Family Bird Fair.  This event will have bird games, bird walks, bird crafts, and more for all ages. And, since the event is over the lunching hour, we will have Papa Murphy’s pizza slices available for purchase.

The last hour of the fair (1–2 pm) will include a book signing by local author and nature legend Paul Johngard, who will be sign copies of his new book all about Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center. Finally, to finish out the celebration, the center will host a happy hour for adults with a Birds and Brews program featuring brews from Zipline Brewing Co. and a presentation about crazy bird names. Cost for the Birds & Brews program is $15/adult, registration required.
