Spring Creek Prairie Celebrates the Season with a Holiday Open House

The annual event is back in-person with more music, crafts, special “out-cider” & to-go treats

Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center’s annual Holiday Open House is back again and in person this year to celebrate the holiday season. The event will be Sunday, December 5 from 1 – 4 p.m. Masks will be required for all attendees.

“We are so excited to invite everyone back to the center for this annual tradition,” said Jason St. Sauver, senior education manager for Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center. “We want to say thank you for such a great year and wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season while providing some great music, activities, and treats.”

There will be music from the local bluegrass band Arbor Road while people of all ages can make and take home holiday decoration made from recycled materials. The outdoor trails will also be open for a winter walkabout through the tallgrass prairie.

All Holiday Open House attendees are required to be masked as the event is indoors. Also, to help keep everyone safe, the event’s famous cider and snacks are being planned differently. We will have “Out-Cider” this year – hot apple cider on the outside patio – as well as providing the homemade treats in to-go bags instead of to be eaten on site.

Admission is free. For more information, visit springcreek.audubon.org/events or email scp@audubon.org.
