Super Bird Saturday

Celebrate Bird Month in Nebraska

Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center invites everyone to join the family-fun of SUPER BIRD SATURDAY on Saturday, May 13. The day will kick off with a “Birding by Ear” workshop from 7:30 – 9:30 am and be followed by the “Family Bird Fair” from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

"May is a big month at Spring Creek Prairie and in Nebraska,” says Jason “the Birdnerd” St. Sauver, Sr. Education Manager. “It is BIRD MONTH across the state as proclaimed by Governor Jim Pillen and we plan to celebrate with lots of fun for everyone at our Super Bird Saturday event."

The event is Saturday, May 13, which is also World Migratory Bird Day. The day will kick off with a special Birding By Ear workshop led by Jason “the Birdnerd.”  The workshop will include a short presentation followed by a stroll on the prairie to focus on listening and learning what bird songs you are hearing and just what those birds might be saying.

Following the workshop will be the Family Bird Fair from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. This portion of SUPER BIRD SATURDAY will have bird crafts, bird games, guided bird watching, and something for everyone all about our feathered friends. Snacks will be available and trails will be open for further exploration and bird watching.

The Birding by Ear workshop from 7:30 – 9:30 am is $10/person and requires registration on Spring Creek Prairie’s website. The Family Bird Fair from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. is FREE and fun for all.
