For over 10 years, Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center has hosted a free Holiday Open House. This year, the holiday kickoff event is on Sunday, December 1 from 1 – 4 pm and will feature treats, hot cider, and several family-friendly activities.
Attendants will have the opportunity to take a walk on the trails (weather permitting) or, if there’s snow, build a snow creature. In the center, there will be craft stations where people can make holiday decorations using recycled materials, listen to music from local artists, and enjoy homemade treats and hot apple cider.
The Holiday Open House will also feature a kids’ sing/dance-along with local musician Jim King.
“It’s just a great day on the prairie with family and friends,” said Center Director Meghan Sittler. “Before the hustle and bustle of the holidays, friends and family can relax on the prairie and just get in the spirit of the season.”
Registration is not required and it is free to attend (donations are welcome). For more information, visit springcreek.audubon.org/events or call (402) 797-2301.
